ABOUT OTAN TRAINING: Workshop Descriptions

Workshop title OTAN: Internet Resources for Adult Education 
Workshop description

This workshop is designed for users familiar with the internet but not so familiar with OTAN. The session focuses on teaching resources available on and through the OTAN Web site for ABE, High School Diploma and Equivalency preparation, and ESL/EL Civics/Citizenship programs.

Learn to navigate the OTAN site and its resources including the Teaching with Technology tool, lesson plans, access to activities created by adult education teachers, and so much more!

Prerequisites: Basic computer and internet skills. Must have an email address and be a registered member of OTAN prior to the workshop.

Session length 1.5 
Format Workshops: Synchronous online trainings, or series of trainings, in which facilitator and participants interact by voice or chat.

Minimum System Requirements for Participating in Online Workshops:

  • Broadband Internet connection (DSL, Cable modem or faster, no dial-up).
  • Computer with speakers or headphones (some classes require microphones too).
  • Active e-mail account through registration for the course as an OTAN member.
  • Some workshops have other special requirements, please read the workshop descriptions carefully.
