Hundreds of thousands of mothers participate in adult education classes across the U.S. This Mothers' Day (May 12), World Education (www) wants to honor their efforts to improve their own and their family's lives through education by publishing their stories. When moms go back to school the entire family and community benefits.

Each mother's experience in adult education is unique. World Education is looking for narratives that tell of the hopes and dreams, trials and sacrifices, and joys and triumphs of mothers in adult education. They also want to know about how families, children and others were affected and responded to decisions to return to school.

World Education plans to publish 10-12 stories online. The stories will be 300-500 words in length, and a small stipend is being offered to each adult education student whose work is accepted for publication. All writings will be considered and must be received by March 15, 2013 for selection by March 31, 2013.

For more information and submission criteria visit the World Education Web site (www) or download the Call for Writings PDF (Adobe Reader)
