Registration Now Open for CALPRO Fall 2011 Online Courses

Posted on 08/31/2011

What better way to start off the new school year than with professional development? The California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project (CALPRO) offers free professional development courses you can take any time, any place, through the Internet. To get started, all you need is an e-mail account, Internet access, and an average of three hours per week scheduled according to your convenience.

Registration is now open for four popular CALPRO courses that will begin soon, in October:

  • Designing Programs for Adults with Learning Disabilities, Session 1: Awareness for Adult Educators
  • Effective Lesson Planning
  • Integrated and Contextualized Workforce Skills in the ABE/ASE Classroom
  • Understanding the Adult Learner, Session 1: Adult Learning and Development

With the click of a mouse, you can get great, practical ideas grounded in research, discuss best practices with colleagues from across the state, and earn credit! Want more interaction? Course participants can talk to their facilitator and each other through two Webinars offered in real-time.

Enrollment in these October courses is on a first-registered, first-served basis, so sign up today! CALPRO events are open to all adult educators currently working in programs funded through the California Department of Education, Adult Education Office. For registration and additional information, visit CALPRO's  Event Calendar or the statewide training calendar of the state Leadership Projects.
