Blair Roy is the new Project Specialist II at OTAN. She will be taking over the management of our Moodle site and online meeting hosting, as well as coordinating all workshops and webinars. In case that isn't enough to keep her busy, she will also be producing several videos per year.

Blair is a technophile from way back. She started the first ESL computer lab at Garden Grove Adult School, where she taught ESL for over 20 years. She recommended purchases of hardware and software, and helped keep everything in the lab running as well as training and encouraging teachers to bring students to the lab. She also taught high school subjects and computer skills.

Blair is a natural instructional leader, leading by example and mentoring her colleagues. She participated in OTAN's Technology Integration Mentor Academy (TIMAC) four years ago, and since then has become a TIMAC mentor herself as well as providing OTAN workshops and webinars on effective uses of the electronic whiteboard. When OTAN piloted video streaming with Discovery Education, Blair immersed herself in that project, learned all aspects of the Discovery system, and offered workshops and mentoring to other teachers. You can see her in a video about multimedia in the classroom (scroll down to find it.)

Blair and her husband originally came from Louisiana, settling in southern California. They have three grown children and three grandkids. She loves the outdoors, hiking and swimming, and played water polo for five years.
