GED Videos: Moving Beyond the GED

Posted on 04/26/2010

The Southwest Virginia Regional Adult Education Program, affiliated with the Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center (VALRC), has produced three new videos to promote their "Moving Beyond the GED®" initiative. The three short, inspirational videos showcase individuals from the Southwest VA region who discuss how earning a GED® helped them pursue additional education and training so they could achieve their career dreams. The videos are posted on YouTube and linked to the VALRC site, so if YouTube is blocked for you, you will need to unblock it in order to see the videos.

The first video is about Jane, woman who as a single parent earned her GED®, went to college and became a program coordinator. The second video features a young man, Clarence, who finished his GED®, works as a construction worker and now also attends college. The final video  is about Jeff, who became a licensed practical nurse after he completed his GED®.

View the videos, and learn more about the GED® resources, links and publications found at VALRC. The mission of VALRC is to "equip the field of adult education and literacy with essential skills and resources by delivering innovative and effective training, publications, curriculum design, and program development."
