CAEAA Accepting Nominations for Adult Education Awards

Posted on 11/20/2009

California Adult Education Administrators Association (CAEAA) will hold its annual conference at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco on January 27-29, and the registration form has been posted. The organization has also announced open nominations for its 2010 Awards.  This is "an opportunity to recognize colleagues for their leadership and commitment to adult education" and to publicly acknowledge the value and importance of the work of adult education administrators throughout California. Please take this opportunity to nominate and celebrate an outstanding colleague. Even in these challenging times, we still have plenty to celebrate!

Award nominations include:

  • 2010  Visionary Leadership Award — for an adult educator who has articulated and implemented a vision for adult education, and motivated and inspired others to work toward that vision.
  • 2010 Lifelong Achievement Award — for a person who has worked in the adult education system for 15 years or more, at least 10 as an administrator, and made significant contributions to the field.
  • 2010 Innovation in Adult Education Award — for an individual or group that has introduced innovation to the field and is a skilled manager of change.
  • 2010 Advocacy Award — for a person or organization that has made a major impact by writing or influencing legislation, and has publicly represented the mission of adult education in the face of opposition and adversity.

The deadline for submitting nominations is December 15, 2009, and submission information is available through the links above. The Awards will be presented at the 13th Annual CAEAA Conference.

CAEAA is a statewide organization open to administrators or management personnel who work in, or support, adult education programs. The purpose of the organization is to support and promote public school adult education offered through unified and union high school districts.
