Fall 2009 Online Professional Development Courses

Posted on 09/22/2009

What better way to start off the new school year than with professional development?  The California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project (CALPRO) offers free professional development courses you can take any time, any place, through the Internet. To get started, all you need is an e-mail account, Internet access, and an average of three hours per week scheduled according to your convenience.

Registration is now open for four popular CALPRO courses, each lasting four weeks:

  • Understanding the Adult Learner, Session 1
  • Designing Programs for Adults with Learning Disabilities, Awareness for Adult Educators
  • Managing the ESL Multilevel Class
  • Effective Lesson Planning

With the click of a mouse, you can get great, practical ideas grounded in research, discuss best practices with colleagues from across the state, and earn credit!  Want more interaction? Course participants also have the opportunity to talk to their facilitator and each other through optional Webinars (two scheduled over the four-week period).

Enrollment in these courses is on a first-registered, first-served basis, so sign up today!  For registration and additional information, visit CALPRO’s Online Courses Web page.
