CA College Transition Institute and Summit Meeting

Posted on 09/11/2009

CALPRO will partner with the National College Transition Network (NCTN) to offer two 2-day institutes on models and methods for developing college transition pathway programs and forming partnerships and collaboration to enhance transitions for California’s adult students from basic education to college.

Nominees will have the choice of attending a two-day Institute on either October 28th & 29th (Cohort one) or on October 29th and 30th (Cohort two). Each cohort will have one training day which will focus on the College Transition Tool Kit produced by the NCTN. Both cohorts will be together for the Summit Meeting on Thursday, October 29th. The Summit Meeting will feature presentation by policy-makers, researchers, practitioners and executive leaders from the U.S. Department of Education, California Department of Education and the California Community College system.

CALPRO will accept 30 applicants per institute who are nominated by their agency to attend. Nominees should be education agency staff who are in positions of direct policy-making and program design authority. We encourage agencies to nominate staff at the director or principal level. CALPRO will cover the travel costs for all nominees accepted to attend.

The nomination and application form contains more detailed information about this event. Nominations must be received in the CALPRO office no later than Monday, September 28th 2009.
