The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) includes digital literacy as a workforce preparation activity for adult education, defining digital literacy as "the skills associated with using technology to enable users to find, evaluate, organize, create, and communicate information" (the Museum and Library Services Act of 2010).

Never has it been more important for us all to develop and deepen these skills. Nell will share some experiences from her work in New York City, the broad challenges faced by adult education programs in these particularly turbulent times. From funding to assessment to data collection, with all that on our plates, how can we manage to integrate digital literacy into our own lives, never mind into our instructional practice? In this call to action, we will look at some promising practices for doing just that for ourselves, our students, and our colleagues.
