CALPRO Online Workshops: Integrating Workforce Skills and Contextualizing Instruction

This fall, the California Adult Literacy Professional Development Project (CALPRO) (www) is offering three facilitated, online workshops in real time that help adult educators incorporate skills that transfer from the classroom to the workplace and also contextualize instruction effectively. Enrollment is limited and on a first-registered, first-enrolled basis.

  • Integrated and Contextualized Workforce Skills in the Adult Education Classroom, Session 1: Transferable Skills for the Workplace (Mon., 10/22, and Wed., 10/24, 3:30 – 5 pm )

  • Integrated and Contextualized Workforce Skills in the ABE/ASE Classroom, Session 2: Contextualized Instructional Strategies (Mon., 11/25, and Wed., 11/7, 3:30 – 5 pm )

  • Integrated and Contextualized Workforce Skills in the ESL Classroom, Session 2:

Each workshop is delivered in two 90-minute segments and provides lots of interaction with the subject-expert facilitator and adult educators from ABE, ASE, and ESL programs across California. Visit the CALPRO Web site (www) for more information.

Eligibility: all adult literacy providers currently working in programs funded though the California Department of Education, Adult Education Office (including WIA, Title II federal funds), are eligible to be enrolled free of charge and earn certificates of attendance (3 hours per workshop topic).
