ING Unsung Heroes

The insurance company ING offers grants of $2,000 to teachers to help fund innovative classroom projects. All full-time K12 education professionals are eligible to apply, including adult educators as long as they are employed by a public school district. One hundred $2,000 grants will be awarded, at least one in each state where a teacher applies. From those one hundred finalists, three projects will be selected to receive first, second and third place awards. The first place award is $25,000, second place is $10,000, and third place receives $5,000.

More information about the grant is included in OTAN’s grants listings. A video of the first place winner for 2008 is available on the ING site, and described video projects created by high school students. The application is also online, and is due by April 30. In these times of diminishing budgets, OTAN will publish information about grant opportunities as they become available.
